As a native Texan, I have been taught to be very proud of the heroes of the Alamo. But I didnt know all of this about Davy Crockett. But I should have known. If he and the others hadnt done what they did, we would all be speaking Spanish, and doing homage to the government of Mexico. And we wouldnt have had all the advantages we enjoy today. I love reading about them, and wish we had more like them around today. Mary Laur, Mission, Texas.
